Alice Cullen; Vampire JacksonSmiles

First Name: Alice (Mary)

Last Name: Cullen (Brandon)

Birthday: 22nd September 1901

Gender: Female

Species: Vegetarian Vampire

Home: Forks, Washington

History: Mary Alice Brandon was born on 22nd September, 1901 to a wealthy family in Biloxi, Mississippi. Since Alice was a young girl, she had an ability to have visions of the future. However, this was not understood by anybody and it was presumed she was insane which resulted in Alice getting stuck in a mental asylum; and in the early 1900s, these involved bleak, horrible conditions with damp, dark rooms and a tiny budget to keep the 'patients' fed. The majority of them died due to hunger or some other illness; one reason why Alice is so thin and petite – she was malnourished during her child and teen years. Fortunately, this innocent, frail looking girl had a strong will to survive and she did so. But her human years were to be short-lived, as a roaming vampire took particular interest in her. It was later discovered that this very same vampire tried to kill Bella. Although there is no clear reason for James’ choice of prey, he is a natural tracker and enjoys the hunt of finding and killing his victims who are often favorites of other vampires. Fortunately (in some respects), the attendant at the asylum was also a vampire and had a particular liking for Alice; although this wasn’t uncommon, as her appearance and demeanor made her seem vulnerable and someone who needed protecting. Sensing James’ obsession with Alice, the asylum worker bit her, and for this James attacked and killed him. Alice was 19 years old when her human life was ended.

Alice had no memories of the events of these years and was left to find her own way. At some point, she saw Major Jasper Whitlock in a vision; he was searching for someone, and Alice was conveniently there to provide him with exactly what he was looking for. The found each other in 1948, as Jasper entered a café. Alice jumped up to meet him, and despite the foot-and-a-half gap between their heights, they gelled immediately. They travelled together from then on, and found the Cullens in 1950 due to a lot of help from Alice’s visions. They have been valued members of the family since, and helped with numerous problems and situations that the Cullens have faced.

Personality: Alice is a generally bubbly and happy girl, and as the optimist and enthusiast of the Cullens, she is often the one to brighten situations. She's very easy to get along with and always excepts new friends of the Cullens with open arms. She's quite a feminine girl as she adores shopping and treating her sisters as barbie dolls; giving them makeovers, dressing them, and more. Renesmee is also becoming subject to Alice's hobbies, but she seems to enjoy it a great deal more than her mother.

However, despite the playful side to Alice's personality, she is also tough. Though she appears to be innocent and useless, she is quick and light and even manages to outwit Jasper when play-fighting. This is a great advantage to her as she does not have the strength, strategy or particularly outstanding speed like some of the other Cullens.

But beneath all that, Alice holds a great burden on her shoulders. As one of the gifted Cullens, Alice has the ability of foresight, but this does not make life easy for her. The Cullens rely on her to see coming troubles and decisions made about their group, but Alice's gift is entirely dependant on her target's decision having been made; and if they know how to avoid Alice seeing things, it can make her duty extremely difficult. To further this, Alice cannot foresee movements of werewolves at all, but this is not so much of a problem as they now have an alliance. She finds it easiest to see vampire's decision, with humans and hybrids being increasingly fuzzier.

Finally, despite Alice's exterior, she holds deep emotional connections with Jasper and is a loved wife, sister and daughter. Jasper is Alice's soulmate; they are the good and bad of eachother, and though they have ties to the Cullens, their primary cares are for eachother. Unlike Rosalie and Emmett, they do not share a publically physical relationship, but they do have their 'moments'.

Appearance: Alice is a very slight girl, standing at 4'10". She is described as being pixie-like with a very thin body, and small features. Her hair is short, midnight-black and spikey; a result of wanting a change after having been changed in the mental asylum, formerly having sported long hair that was similarly dark. Like all the Cullens, she has eyes which are golden when she's just feasted on animals that progressively darken as she gets thirstier, eventually becoming black. Other traits shared by vampires include dark circles under her eyes and pale, cold skin that sparkles in sunlight. Alice is beautiful because of her vampire status, and her normal walk is similar to dancing due to the elegance and grace of her movement.

Special ability: Alice has the ability of foresight; AKA, seeing the future. However, these change as different decisions are made. Alice is unable to see shapeshifters in her visions, so as soon as they become involved in an event she sees merely a cloudy and unintelligible picture. She also has some difficulty seeing Vampire hybrids, although this is just about possible.

Roleplay Sample: When the Cullens had come to Forks, there had been a clear line where people avoided them around their table. Alice had always noticed people trying to find a way to the other side of the cafeteria without going near them; clearly, the human’s instincts told them to be worried of something. But ever since Bella had started sitting with them, that line had definitely become closer, just about in touching vicinity. Maybe they were getting more popular? Perhaps. Or maybe Bella was simply the key to the Cullens (or, Alice liked to think, Edward’s) mind opening up to other people, and the concept that they could be friends? That seemed more than likely.

Alice turned to Rose as she was spoken to, looking in the direction she’d gestured. Her mind was full of other things at the moment, and this diversion was a pleasant break.

“Speaking of biting, we should probably go hunting soon.” Alice grinned, listening to what the humans were saying. They could be ever so amusing some times; there was proof enough from Bella and her many accidents for that. But whilst they were not all so clumsy, a few seemed to be great comedians, or particularly talented at sarcasm – there was an endless supply of talents which different people possessed.

Alice studied the 3 humans for a little while. The boy looked fairly innocent, not the kind to cause any great deal of trouble . The girls seemed fairly complacent too, although one was clearly shyer than the other.

“Do you think we should have some fun with them?” Alice looked at Rose, her lips curled upwards. On a particularly dreary day in Forks, what else was there to do than play with some naive humans?

"Of course," Rosalie answered Alice, grinning with her, "What did you have in mind?"

Alice’s eyes flicked between her sister and the little group of humans, a smirk settled on her lips. Her eyes were shimmering with a new excitement; there hadn't been much today due to the lessons which she's sat through far too many times. But the 'sisters' were definitely going to be having some fun with the humans today.

"How about we... ask them to come and sit with us?" She grinned, knowing this would be completely out of the ordinary for the Forks cafeteria. Not only had they been caught looking at the humans, but they were even going to interact with them.

In short, it'd be quite a revolutionary day for the humans; and everybody in the school would be jealous, of course. Especially with Rosalie, girlfriend of the biggest boy in school with a stunning body and face, hitting on the blonde boy. It was evident to Alice that her sister enjoyed doing this, even if Emmett didn't particularly agree with it - and of course, it was fun for Alice to watch. She'd never dare attempt to do it herself though: the boys wouldn't ever find the 4'10" pixie too appealing.

It was almost fun, holding such a power over the high school's students. Not only were the Cullens respected, but also a little feared; and this in its own was like an extra power for them all to possess. It was especially useful on days when the boys had gone off hunting and Alice was left with her sister; they derived a small amount of pleasure from making the hearts of many of Forks' school boys (and in some cases, girls) race.

"So. What do you think?" She winked at her sister, her white teeth sparkling slightly in the cafeteria's light.
