Jacob Black; Werewolf JB

First Name: Jacob
Last Name: Black
Date of Birth: 03/07/1990
Gender: Male
Species: Werewolf
Home: La Push, Washington
History: Jacob Black was born in La Push, Washington, to Billy and Sarah Black. The youngest of three children, he was the least affected in his family when his mother died in a car accident. Though both sisters found it difficult to stay in the house after their mother died, it was Rebecca who got married and moved to Hawaii. Rachel, just as awkward as her older sister, went to university in Washington State. She visits Jacob rarely, so it’s mostly just him and his father.

His father lost the use of his legs a while ago, and now sits in a wheelchair. Though this often puts Jacob out, as he has to drive his father everywhere, he really doesn’t mind. Billy often visits Sue Clearwater, who lives nearby, and Charlie Swan often comes up to visit, as well.

His life changed when he was fifteen and he met Bella Swan – Charlie’s daughter – and was immediately infatuated. Younger than her, he was proud when she asked him for the stories of the Quileute legends in an effort to get information from him. He tried to find the time, after that, to spend a little while with her.
When he was sixteen, Jacob discovered that the Quileute legends – which he always considered fake – were real, when he became one of the werewolves that he’d thought were fake. His sunny disposition quickly disappeared as he had to leave behind the innocent childhood he knew in preference for an adulthood that he wasn’t prepared for. The privacy he’d always known quickly disappeared, and he had to leave behind friends – or, worse yet, Bella, of whom he’d forged a friendship with after the ‘bloodsucker’ had left her.

Slightly depressed, he realized that he was breaking the promise to never reject her, and tried to give her a hint as to what he was – a werewolf. A protector. When she guessed correctly, his whole life became easier, and he let her back in, arms open. He knew, long before then, that he was falling in love with Isabella Swan – something that he’d never expected to turn his life around, but did. He had a whole plan thought out – he was going to get Bella to love him like he loved her.

Unfortunately, the Cullen – Alice – returned halfway through his plan, and ruined everything as she announced that Edward was going to Italy for some reason or another, as he thought that Bella – when she’d been stupid enough to throw herself off a cliff – was dead. Furious, he stayed home and brooded until she got home safely. When she did return home, he was prepared – in an effort to get Bella grounded and away from Edward, he planted the motorbikes that she wasn’t allowed to ride in the front yard and explained them to Charlie. He saw, not much later, the true love between Edward and Bella; it didn’t help matters.

In Eclipse, Jacob is the slightly-depressed-and-very-heartbroken werewolf. Miserable, he decides that he can forge a friendship with Bella, even though she loves the bloodsucker. When he realizes that the issue in the friendship is more than just him not wanting to be friends with Bella while she dates the bloodsucker, but also the fact that the bloodsucker himself doesn’t consider it ‘safe’, he kidnaps her – with her permission – when Edward is on a hunting trip. From then on, Edward allows her to go visit him.
It doesn’t help, however, that he could then see the love of his life every day. In fact, it just made it worse, knowing that she loved Jacob – not as much as she loved Edward, but it was enough just the same. Bella herself, however, didn’t know that she loved Jacob until the fight with the newborns, when he threatened to kill himself.

Nothing changed in her realization, however; she still loved Edward more than Jacob. Hurt, he said his final goodbye, knowing that she would be turned into a vampire soon, after her wedding to the bloodsucker.
He ran off in to the night, letting himself go completely to his instincts. For several weeks, he was gone without a trace, going up somewhere to Northern Canada. When it came time for the wedding, however, he returned to visit Bella one, last time; to let her know that she still had the options. In discovering that she was putting herself in even more danger –and that Edward was allowing it – he lost control of himself for a minute, and returned to his pack.

For weeks, he worried about Bella and went between being furious at her, and furious as her bloodsucker. When he heard that she’d returned, and that the story was that she’d gotten some unknown disease down south, he raced to the Cullen household in hopes of seeing her as a vampire, and of picking a fight with Edward. To his surprise, Bella did look like she had some unknown disease. It wasn’t the case; she was pregnant with a half-vampire.

For several days, Jacob tried to protect Bella from the pack, who considered the baby a threat to the families. He separated himself for the Quileute tribe, in hope of being completely on his own, but both Seth and Leah Clearwater followed him, and they helped him protect the baby, and Bella.

When Bella’s baby was finally born, named Renesmee, Jacob resented her completely, for killing the love of his life. However, when he finally saw her, the world shifted; his love for Bella seemed insignificant suddenly, more brother-like then boyfriend-like. Suddenly, the world revolved around Renesmee Cullen. Jacob’s heart – and future – belonged to her. He’d imprinted on her.

Now, his future lies in protecting Renesmee and being like a second father to her, and later a friend, and then later, even more. He can concentrate on being Bella’s friend and brother, as well as Edward’s friend and brother.

Personality: If ‘sarcastic’ is a personality, it would be ideal in describing Jacob Black. He’s commonly found wearing a smug expression, but his laughter indicates that’s he’s not as egotistical as he often seems.

Throughout New Moon, Bella also describes him as the sun; her own personal sun, shining all day long, just for her. When Jacob becomes a werewolf, he becomes more sullen; he laughs less, smiles less. He is very private, and doesn’t like that the pack can see in to his head.

Appearance: Being a Quileute werewolf, Jacob’s appearance can be described in the way all his brothers could be; tall and dark. In a bit of a more detailed description, he could be described as 6’ 7”, with a muscular build. His hair and eyes are a dark brown, and he has dark skin to match. Heat constantly radiates off of every pore of his body, so he’s often seen without a shirt. This is also due to the fact that he needs a light load when he shifts.

His hair is longer in Twilight, put up in a ponytail. However, in New Moon, upon discovering that he’s a werewolf, he cuts it short. Later, he grows it down to chin length because he believes that Bella prefers it that way. Upon learning that she really doesn’t care, he cuts it short again.

When a werewolf, his fur is described as a russet-color. The length of it depends on how long his hair is; in New Moon and Breaking Dawn, it’s short, but in Eclipse, he’s shaggier.

Special Abilities: Being the grandson of Ephraim Black, Jacob is technically supposed to be the packs’ Alpha. However, he gave up the position to Sam Uley, believing that that was that. However, in Breaking Dawn, he learns that the blood that runs through him is the blood of an Alpha, and he realizes that such will always be the way. Though Sam tries to order him to follow a command, Jacob learns that Sam cannot order him – but that Jacob himself can order Sam. Nonetheless, he separates himself from the pack.

Also has the ability to shapeshift, or become a wolf; phase.

Sample Roleplay: Jacob Black was bored.

It was a strange sensation for him, really, to be bored like this; to be splayed out on his bed, his arms spread wide above his head as his legs dangled uselessly off the bed, his tongue rolling out of his mouth as if he really was a dog. It made him realize how pathetic his life really had become, when he spent all of his time at a bloodsucker's house - lot of bloodsuckers - and, whenever he wasn't there, he wished he was. Kind of like an alternate universe where werewolves ('Shape-shifters,' he reminded himself with a cringe.) hung out with non-human-eating vampires.

At the moment, he was thinking about Blondie - and Nessie, of course. They'd had an amusing encounter that afternoon where Jacob had 'accidentally' dropped some peanut butter in her hair. As Blondie blew up at him, Nessie was looking at her curiously, her eyes open wide in wonder. She then picked up the jar of peanut butter and threw a chunk at Blondie's hair.

The smile that appeared on his mouth was proud; he was proud of who Nessie was becoming, proud that she was learning and growing and living, unlike the bloodsuckers she lived with. He occasionally asked himself, when he looked at her, if he still loved her mother even the slightest; the answer was no.

Some days, he mused that this was a lie he told himself as comforting words; others, he knew it was the truth. It depended on the day and time, really. Whenever he was with Nessie, he knew the answer was certainly no, but as he sat in his bedroom, he wondered again.

Surely, he couldn't just forget about the love of his life with a simple snap of his fingers. But, it seemed, he had, and the thought pleased him so much that he pitied Leah.

What a strange time it was, indeed.
